''Only those live who do good'' Count Leo Tolstoy What Count Leo Tolstoy is trying to say is that if you're a good person you will live with peace and have more spirit. Instead of being bad and choosing the wrong you will live a bad life. An example of doing good is if someone in your school gets bully and beat up. You then stick up for them you're doing good because you're choosing the right. Another example is if you have a pizza box with food in it and will you're walking by you see a homeless person. They will ask you if you could give them some change but you then give them pizza slices. That's choosing the right and being nice. You're not being selfish but helping the less fortunate. Now an example of doing the wrong is when your friends are at a party drinking and then they offer you some and you take it. That's doing the wrong because you're not suppose to be drinking until 21. Another example is if you rob something from th

'' What's right isn't always popular. What's popular isn't always right.'' Albert Einstein I agree with Albert Einstein, just because you see popular people doing something it ain't always going to be the right thing. Also you shouldn't try to be like someone you're not. Always be you. Now if you don't follow others you must be doing the right. An example to doing the right that isn't popular is going to hospitals and helping out. People might think you're weird or something but you're doing the right. You are also following your heart and being who your are. An example of doing what the ''popular'' people are doing and it isn't right. When you see them doing drugs and drinking alcohol. You might think you're fitting in but you're just hurting yourself. It's not right to follow and try to impress others when you don't want to or it's bad. You should always do whats right for you.

A choice: Poverty or Prosperity ''I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change it.'' Dr. Ben Carson What Dr. Ben Carson is trying to say is poverty is not a big deal. Its okay if you live with poverty. But if you dislike poverty then you should change that by working really hard. The only way you will change poverty is by having a good education. Education is key because without it you wouldn't be able to get a good job. Plus, you must know your stuff and you must work really hard. For example, Dr. Ben Carson lived in poverty. Now he did not like it but he said that he wanted to change that. He was also not a very good student in his class. Then he started to study more and read and sooner or later he started to study to be a surgeon. After being a surgeon he decided to run for presidential candidate. SO now hes not in poverty anym

Current Health-Related Event or Issue

Alcoholism Alcoholism is an addiction to the consumption of alcoholic liquor or the mental illness and compulsive behavior resulting from alcohol dependency. Some facts are that according to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, almost 80% of high school students have tried alcohol. Alcohol is created when drains, fruits, or vegetables are fermented. When people drink alcohol, its absorbed into their bloodstream. From there it affects the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), which controls virtually all body functions. Because experts now know that the human brain is still developing during our teens, scientists are researching the effects drinking alcohol can have on the teen brains. Alcohol is a depressant, which means it slows the function of the central nervous system. Alcohol actually blocks some of the messages trying to get to the brain. This alters a persons perceptions, emotions, movement, vision, and hearing. People who have overused alc

Wrong is Never Right

Student Success Statement ''Even if everyone is doing it, WRONG IS NEVER RIGHT.'' Russell M. Nelson What Russel Nelson is saying is that you shouldn't always copy and do the same thing everyone else is doing because you never know if something is wrong. An example of this is, if you see people cheating on a test. You will then do it too but its doing the wrong. Its wrong to cheat because once you cheat you will never stop and its not right. Its also wrong to cheat because if you cheat your whole life when you work in the career you trained for you're not going to know whats going on. Another example is if you're at a party and you see people and kids smoking. They're going to tell you if you want some and since everyone else is doing it you're going to do it too. This is bad because not only are you doing it to look ''cool'' but you're also damaging your body. Damaging your body and give you a lot of health risk. So just

Student Success Statement ''You can't be right by doing wrong; you can't be wrong by doing right'' by: Thomas S. Monson What Thomas is trying to say is that don't think you're doing the right when you're doing something bad. An example would be if you're going to smoke a cigarette is doing something wrong but, you believe its right. That is what he's trying to say that you might believe you are doing something right but its actually wrong.Another example would be if you're cheating of a test. You might think its right because you're going to get a good grade but its actually wrong. Now the next part is that you cant say somethings wrong when its actually right. For example if your friends are having problems and they ask you for advice. When you're giving them advice you might think your advice is wrong or you're not good at it. It doesn't matter because you're giving them a favor and it's choosing the r
The Harmful Effects of Marijuana Different methods of taking the drug may affect your body differently. When you inhale marijuana smoke into your lungs, the drug is quickly released into your bloodstream and makes its way to your brain and other organs. It takes a little longer to feel the effects if you eat or drink marijuana. There is ongoing controversy around the effects of marijuana on the body. People report various physical and psychological effects, from harm and  discomfort to pain relief and relaxation.  Marijuana can be used in some states for medical reasons, and in some areas, recreational use is legal as well. What it also means is that its important to make people smile. An example would be if someone is feeling sad and you make them laugh then thats good. Another example would be if you're and entertainer and you make people happy. If you make someone happy it'll make them want to make others happy. This is called making a difference. ''I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right.'' -Dean Smith Dean Smith is trying to say that he didn't care about leaving the team he just wanted to do what do what he felt was right. An example is if you're playing a game and your friend wants to cheat and they're trying to convince you. You then say no because that what you felt was the right thing to do. You did kinda want to cheat but you knew whats more important. To choose the right. Another example would be if your in class taking a test. Then your partner if asking for the answers you tell him no but he keeps on trying to convince you. He then asked you again when the teacher said no talking or cheating. You then raise you hand and tell the teacher the problem he gets in trouble. Now you weren't trying to be rude or mean. You just wanted to take the test fairly and do what was right. Its not bad to say no and choose the right.

School Day Breaks During my Christmas Break I went to Knotts for the first time and it was fun. I went from 10 am to 11 pm. Int he morning it wasn't that packed but later on in the evening it started to get packed. Something else I did was go shopping. I wasted most of my money buying myself stuff and buying my brother stuff and buying food. I went to the mall like 3 times. I also went to this shopping center and Citadel. I spend my break mostly staying home and going out with my family and friends. I finished 4 seasons of ''Gossip Girl'' during the break. In Christmas Eve I spend it with my family and my uncles family. We ate a lot of food and we had a theme to come in pajamas. On New Years Eve I didn't really do anything. I just stayed home and watched ''Gossip Girl''. In the break I also went to my best friends house and we did a gingerbread house. I would say that my break was fun but boring at the same time when I didn't go out. It wa
