Modeling


In fashion, a runway, catwalk or ramp is a narrow, usually flat platform that runs into an auditorium or between sections of an outdoor seating area, used by models to demonstrate clothing and accessories during a fashion show. Most high fashion models earn between $25 and $300 per hour, according to Glassdoor. The skills needed to be a runway model is:

  •  good grooming and the ability to take care of your appearance 
  • confidence, self-reliance and discipline
  • a pleasant, professional attitude with good people skills
  • patience, stamina and fitness to cope with long, tiring days and traveling
  • the ability to cope with criticism and rejection
You'll often have to go to casting sessions with potential clients or agencies. You'll also spend a lot of time looking after your appearance. You could specialize in different types of modeling, like:
  • high fashion and catwalk
  • photographic editorials for magazines
  • advertising for magazines, billboards, websites, and social media
  • TV commercials
  • promotional modeling like music videos, personal appearances, leaflets and brochures
  • in-house live modeling for designers and clothing wholesalers
In fashion show modeling you'll walk along the catwalk, turning to display clothes in front of the audience. You'll work closely with stylists, hair and make-up artists, producers and directors. 

In photographic, advertising and promotional modeling you'll:
  • take directions from photographers
  • pose for photographers in a studio or on location
  • act or deliver lines in TV commercials
If you're working as an in-house live model, designers will fit garments onto you in the workshop, and you'll show finished clothing to fashion buyers and private customers.
I chose this topic because I love fashion and models are made to do runways. Also because fashion shows and modeling catches my attention.

Forgive

Student Success Statement ''When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.'' Alan Paton What Alan Paton is saying is that forgiveness is healing. It's important to forgive. Once you forgive you feel better about yourself. You also feel more peaceful. An example is that if you and your brother had a big fight and it hurt you. You should still forgive him because no matter how long ago that fight was from he's still your brother. Plus once you forgive him you won't be angry at him anymore. Another example is if someone was once drunk driving and they crash a car. They will go to jail and then if the car was broken really badly the owners will be very angry at the person. But sooner or later if the person ask for forgiveness they should forgive them. Because if they beg for your forgiveness or not it shows that they care and they truly feel sorry. Plus you'll feel better once you forgive them.
