Dean Smith is trying to say that he didn't care about leaving the team he just wanted to do what do what he felt was right. An example is if you're playing a game and your friend wants to cheat and they're trying to convince you. You then say no because that what you felt was the right thing to do. You did kinda want to cheat but you knew whats more important. To choose the right. Another example would be if your in class taking a test. Then your partner if asking for the answers you tell him no but he keeps on trying to convince you. He then asked you again when the teacher said no talking or cheating. You then raise you hand and tell the teacher the problem he gets in trouble. Now you weren't trying to be rude or mean. You just wanted to take the test fairly and do what was right. Its not bad to say no and choose the right.
