Duties and Responsibilities: Provide careful nursing interventions in emergency situations. Triage patients and evaluate the severity of the patient's injuries. Provide IV insertion, intubation, medicine administration, blood drawing, and many other medical procedures. Prepare patients for surgery or diagnostic testing. Salary: $66,220 Education: The most common route is acquiring an RN degree along with a bachelor degree, and then earning a certification program in trauma nursing. Demand or Need for Profession: Trauma nurses must also be skilled at a variety of nursing tasks, from starting IV's, to monitoring heart rhythms, to recognizing changes in a patient's acuity (how severe the patient's illness/injury is) and intervening as appropriate. They must be competent, empathetic, resilient, decisive and dedicated. Reflection: This career does interest me because you get to help people who are injured. podiatrist

Duties and Responsibilities: Podiatrists treat a variety of foot and ankle ailments, including calluses, ingrown toenails, heel spurs, and arch problems. They also treat foot and leg problems associated with diabetes and other diseases. Some podiatrists spend most of their time performing advanced surgeries, such as foot and ankle reconstruction. Salary: $119,340 Education: Doctoral or professional degree Demand or Need for Profession:  Interpersonal Skills Reasoning Skills Ability to focus on details Written comprehension and expression Salary information Reflection:  This career is a good career but I personally wouldn't want to have it. It doesn't interest me a lot because I don't like surgeries so I wouldn't be good at doing that.

Periodontist

Duties and Responsibilities: As a periodontist, you'll treat patients who have gum disease and other issues of the gums and bones surrounding the jaw. Your work may be surgical or non-surgical and might include tasks like placing implants, developing treatment plans, and providing preventative care. Salary: $305,820 Education: Periodontists are required to complete a periodontics residency, which is usually three years long. Demand or this Profession:  Strong communication and customer service skills  manual dexterity and attention to detail knowledge of business management concepts if starting a private practice Reflection: This career doesn't really interest me because when you're a periodontist you might have to do surgery on people and i don't like that. Also because being a dentist doctor doesn't really interest me.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities:  Perform surgery and related procedures on the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions to treat diseases, injuries, or defects. May diagnose problems of the oral and maxillofacial regions. May perform surgery to improve function or appearance. Salary: $252,910 Education: The surgical residencies for oral and maxillofacial surgeons are usually four to six years. After completion of the residency, surgeons can take a written and oral exam to become board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The second path is to earn dual degrees as both a dentist and medical doctor. Demand or Need for Profession: have strong leadership skills be detail oriented have steady hands and good hand-eye coordination have physical and mental stamina be able to handle stress in difficult situations Reflection:  This career doesn't interest me because its not really me.
