Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished. Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened. You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying (and getting caught). Other people trust you more when you tell the truth. You don't have to tell (and remember) more lies to keep your story straight. You gain a reputation for being truthful - a trait most people value. Student Success Statement ''The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity (self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem.'' Dr. Laura Schlessinger  What Dr. Laura Schlessinger is trying to say is that once you do something right you gain something. For example if you choose to help people out you will gain happiness. You will end up feeling good about yourself and your self-esteem will increase. Another example of choosing the right is if you're in a toxic relationship with someone and its not going well you should just remove them from your life. One its not good to have toxic relationships. Second you will feel so much better without them. And lastly you will learn your self-worth. You'll realize that you don't need anyone else but yourself. You'll gave self love which is important. But anything good you do will help you gain something back.
