''Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company.''
-George Washington
What George Washington is trying to say is that you shouldn't be with friends with people who are going to bring you bad intentions. George Washington is also saying that if you do make friends with people who have bad intentions you might do something you might regret. An example of this is that if you're with people who drink. They might convince you to do what they were doing and you might regret it. You might also get hurt.
