Thanksgiving Week

This Thanksgiving I didn't really do much. During the week I went out with my best friend to the pacific and we went to stores and tried on clothes. On Thanksgiving day my aunt and cousins came to my house and we ate posole. Then when it was like 10 they left and I went with my mom to target for black Friday. It was packed and there was a long waiting line for when you pay. We were there until midnight. I was very tired. What I mostly did at home since I didn't really go out was be on my phone and watch Netflix and eat. The show that I'm currently watching on Netflix is called '' Rebelde''. This show is about teenage kids who are living there life to the fullest. There are also drama and romantic scenes. The show is from Mexico City. In the week I also watched movies with my family. Some movies that we watched were Elf, Baby Boss, and many more. I also finished reading the book called ''the perks of being a wallflower''. I had to finish reading it to do my independent reading assignment. Which I didn't finish in the weekend but I started. That's all I really did.

Student Success Statement

'' What's right isn't always popular. What's popular isn't always right.'' Albert Einstein I agree with Albert Einstein, just because you see popular people doing something it ain't always going to be the right thing. Also you shouldn't try to be like someone you're not. Always be you. Now if you don't follow others you must be doing the right. An example to doing the right that isn't popular is going to hospitals and helping out. People might think you're weird or something but you're doing the right. You are also following your heart and being who your are. An example of doing what the ''popular'' people are doing and it isn't right. When you see them doing drugs and drinking alcohol. You might think you're fitting in but you're just hurting yourself. It's not right to follow and try to impress others when you don't want to or it's bad. You should always do whats right for you. ...

Be True

Student Success Statement ''I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.'' Abraham Lincoln This student success statement is about how you should always be true to yourself and others. When you're true to yourself you show that you respect yourself. You should always stand for what you believe is right. When you stand up for your right/ what you believe in you're being true to yourself. An example of standing for whats right is if your friends want to go smoke and they invite you. Maybe a part of you would want to go because you want to fit in with them but you know its not right. There you are being true to yourself because you know it's wrong so you won't go and join them. Another example is if you're taking a test and your friend asked you form the side to let them copy. You might want to do it because they're ...

Alcoholism Alcoholism is an addiction to the consumption of alcoholic liquor or the mental illness and compulsive behavior resulting from alcohol dependency. Some facts are that according to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, almost 80% of high school students have tried alcohol. Alcohol is created when drains, fruits, or vegetables are fermented. When people drink alcohol, its absorbed into their bloodstream. From there it affects the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), which controls virtually all body functions. Because experts now know that the human brain is still developing during our teens, scientists are researching the effects drinking alcohol can have on the teen brains. Alcohol is a depressant, which means it slows the function of the central nervous system. Alcohol actually blocks some of the messages trying to get to the brain. This alters a persons perceptions, emotions, movement, vision, and hearing. People wh...
